The History Of Glenmore

The Glenmore Gymnastic Club was formed over forty years ago in the spring of 1978 as a non-profit organization with the goal of providing quality gymnastics instruction to the families of Calgary at a reasonable cost.

With the opening of the Southland Leisure Centre in 1983, Glenmore moved to the facility that is operated by the City of Calgary. Over the years, the club continued to grow while maintaining its mandate of providing accessible recreational and competitive gymnastics opportunities for families.

In 2020, the decision was made that a new location would be required in order to maintain the level of programming that was expected of the Club and, in 2021, we began renovations on our new space. With renovations complete in early 2022, and the help of countless volunteer hours, we began full operations in our new facility.

As we start this new chapter in the long history of "the little club that could", we hope you will join us in our continuing efforts to make our club as accessible to all as we can.

At Glenmore, we believe that gymnastics is a "Sport for all and a sport for life".
